About this service

What FDA Filing Service is, in plain terms

FDA Filing Service is a filing service for FDA Food Facility Registration. It is used by wine importers and food importers whose foreign suppliers must stay registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in order to ship food and wine to the United States.

What it does
It prepares and submits FDA Food Facility Registration filings through FURLS, the FDA's online registration system.
Who it is for
Wine importers, food importers, and the foreign food and wine facilities that supply them.
What it costs
Published flat fees: $199 for foreign facility registration with the first year of U.S. Agent service; $149 each for U.S. Agent annual service, biennial renewals, domestic registration, and U.S. Agent changes; $99 for PIN recovery. No hidden charges.
What it files
Foreign and domestic facility registrations, biennial renewals, U.S. Agent designations, changes and confirmations, and PIN recovery — and it serves as U.S. Agent for foreign facilities.
What you provide
For an existing facility: the FDA registration number and the registration PIN. For a new facility: its legal name, address, and activity details.
How long it takes
Most filings are submitted within 1–2 business days of receiving the registration number and PIN, and you receive written confirmation when the filing is complete.

What's included

The full registration suite, priced flat

Every service below is a published flat fee — the price you see is the price you pay, with no hourly billing and no add-ons. Filings include preparation, submission through FURLS, and written confirmation sent to you when the FDA record is updated.

Flagship

Foreign facility registration + U.S. Agent

For facilities outside the United States that ship food or wine into the U.S. We prepare and file the facility's FDA registration through FURLS and serve as its U.S. Agent for the first year — designation and confirmation included, so the registration is complete, not just submitted.

$199 — includes year 1 of U.S. Agent service Pay now

U.S. Agent annual service

From year two onward, we continue as the facility's U.S. Agent: the designation stays confirmed in FURLS, FDA communications are received and passed on to you, and the registration is kept in good standing between renewal cycles.

$149 per year Pay now

Biennial renewal

FDA food facility registrations must be renewed every two years, between October 1 and December 31 of each even-numbered year. We verify the facility's information on file, update anything that has changed, and submit the renewal before the deadline — so the registration is not cancelled.

$149 per facility Pay now

Domestic facility registration

For facilities located in the United States that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food. We prepare the registration from the facility's legal name, address, and activity details, and submit it through FURLS — a domestic facility needs no U.S. Agent.

$149 per facility Pay now

U.S. Agent change / transfer

Switching U.S. Agents, or moving a foreign facility's registration to us from another agent. We file the change in FURLS and confirm the new designation, so there is no gap in the facility's registration or its FDA point of contact.

$149 per facility Pay now

PIN recovery

No PIN, no filing — and PINs are often lost between renewal cycles. We run the FDA's PIN retrieval first; if the email address on file is out of date, we handle the FDA's manual verification with a signed letter on the facility's letterhead instead. Either way, you get access to the account back.

How it works

Three steps, no portal accounts to manage

1

Send the facility details

Tell us which facility needs filing and send its FDA registration number and PIN. For a new registration, send the facility's name, address, and what it produces.

2

We prepare and confirm

We check the facility's current FDA record, flag anything that has changed or is missing — including an unconfirmed U.S. Agent — and confirm the details with you before submitting.

3

We file through FURLS

We submit the filing to the FDA and send you written confirmation for your records. Most filings are submitted within 1–2 business days.

Pricing

Flat fees, published upfront

$199 flagship package

Foreign facility registration plus the first year of U.S. Agent service — the package most foreign facilities need — is $199 flat. Every other service is a flat fee too, confirmed before work starts. If a facility needs two services, each is priced at its listed fee; nothing is bundled, stacked, or added later.

The FDA charges nothing for facility registration — registration itself is free, and facility owners may file directly with the FDA through FURLS at no charge. Our fees pay for the preparation, filing, and follow-through described here.

Every service, one flat fee:

Foreign registration + U.S. Agent, year 1$199
U.S. Agent annual service (year 2+)$149/yr
Biennial renewal$149
Domestic facility registration$149
U.S. Agent change / transfer$149
PIN recovery$99

Every filing includes:

  • Preparation and submission of the filing through FURLS
  • Review of the facility's existing FDA record before filing
  • U.S. Agent confirmation follow-up, where a confirmation is outstanding
  • Written confirmation of the completed filing for your records

Managing several supplier facilities? Send the list — each facility is filed and confirmed individually at the same published rates.

Why importers use it

A missed renewal stops shipments. We keep that from happening.

If a foreign facility's FDA registration lapses, its goods can be refused at the U.S. port of entry. The usual causes are ordinary: a PIN nobody can find, a U.S. Agent who never confirmed, a renewal window that closed on December 31. This service exists to handle exactly those details.

Filed through FURLS, confirmed in writing

Every filing is submitted through the FDA's own registration system, and you get written confirmation of the result — the document your customs broker and your files need.

Built around wine and food importers

The service is run by people who manage foreign winery and food facility registrations as part of importing wine into the United States — including the U.S. Agent confirmations and stale-PIN problems that stall renewals.

Nothing submitted without your check

We verify the facility's details with you before anything goes to the FDA, and we tell you plainly if something — a missing PIN, an unconfirmed agent — has to be resolved first.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much do your services cost?

Every service is a published flat fee. Foreign facility registration with the first year of U.S. Agent service is $199. U.S. Agent annual service from year two, biennial renewals, domestic facility registration, and U.S. Agent changes are $149 each. PIN recovery is $99. The FDA itself does not charge a fee for registration — these are our service fees. There is no hourly billing and there are no additional charges.

How long does a filing take?

Most filings are submitted within 1–2 business days once we have the facility's registration number and PIN. If a PIN has to be recovered or a U.S. Agent confirmation is outstanding, we tell you up front — those steps depend on the facility's contact or agent responding, and we follow up until they are done.

What do you need from me to file?

For an existing facility, we need two things: the facility's FDA registration number and its registration PIN. For a new facility registration, we need the facility's legal name, address, and a description of its food activities instead. We confirm all details with you before submitting anything to the FDA.

What happens if the facility lost its registration PIN?

The PIN can be recovered, two ways. First we request a PIN retrieval in FURLS, and the FDA emails the PIN to the contact email address on file for the registration. If that address belongs to a former agent or employee and can't be reached, we use the FDA's manual verification instead: a signed letter on the facility's letterhead from the owner, operator, or agent in charge. PIN recovery is $99 flat. A PIN shown on an old document may no longer be valid if it was reset in a later renewal — a fresh retrieval resolves that.

When is the biennial renewal deadline?

FDA food facility registrations must be renewed between October 1 and December 31 of every even-numbered year. The current renewal period runs October 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. A registration that is not renewed by December 31 is cancelled, and the facility must register again before it can ship food to the United States.

Does a foreign facility need a U.S. Agent?

Yes. Every foreign food facility registered with the FDA must designate a U.S. Agent, and the agent must confirm the designation in the FDA's system before the registration is complete. A designation that was never confirmed is a common reason a registration is not in good standing — we check for it on every filing.

What does U.S. Agent annual service include?

From the second year onward, we remain the facility's designated U.S. Agent for $149 per year: the designation stays confirmed in FURLS, FDA communications sent to the agent are received and passed on to the facility, and we flag the biennial renewal window before it opens. The fee is confirmed with you each year — there is no auto-renewal charge.

What happens if a registration is not renewed on time?

The FDA cancels registrations that are not renewed by December 31 of the renewal year. Food shipped by a facility with a cancelled registration can be refused admission at the U.S. port of entry. The facility can register again, but shipments should not move until the new registration is in place.
